[NOTE] Costumes Need Not Be 'Nerdy'

As we have mentioned in other boards, Friendly Local Nerds is a community forum for people who are interested in things that are considered 'nerdy'. (It is in the name, after all!) But over the years there have been plenty of changes in what's considered nerdy and our communities are often intertwined with other, overlapping groups with similar interests. This is why we allow 'non-nerdy' collected items in the Memorabilia & Collections board and allow other types of models, such as trains or historical models, in the Models & Miniatures area.
The same rule applies to the Cosplay & Play board. You are allowed to post costumes and discuss projects, reenactments or other related things that may not technically be 'nerdy', or are not as nerdy as some things you might see at a convention. We ask, however, that you keep to the theme of creating things that are intended as theatrical or as recreations. Examples of acceptable subjects are things like historical reenactments or costumes (such as Civil War uniforms or Victorian dresses), outfits for alternate genres like steampunk, fursuits or costumes for projects you are working on.
Things are that not included in this are everyday outfits you've made or the posting of kink outfits/pieces. Both of these subjects are considered to be more generally creative and should be posted in our Creativity & Crafts board.
